Training Strategy 2020-2024
A new strategy is in development and will be published in April 25.
The Slough Safeguarding Partnership aims to support the development of the competencies needed for professionals to perform in a multi- agency environment.
The Slough Safeguarding Partnership Forum consists of representation from all the safeguarding partners with the shared aim to develop the workforce to have the necessary competencies to work together to deliver their safeguarding responsibilities.
Partnership representatives are responsible to ensure that the workforce accesses appropriate multi agency training and will account to the Safeguarding Partnership Tactical group on this in their annual reports.
Support to single agencies is also provided in the form of advice and collaboration to promote consistency of message and quality assurance.
The competencies document is available here.
These are currently being revised and will be included in our new strategy in April 25
The competencies have been compiled from a variety of single agency documents as a guide for all partner agencies

With children spending more time online, it is even more important to ensure they are kept safe. It’s not always easy to know how to spot the warning signs of abuse in both adults and children, or to know how to start difficult conversations.
To help families, The Lucy Faithfull Foundation have made 12 films that aim to inform parents, carers and professionals about the risks of child sexual abuse, how to prevent harm from happening in the first place, and where to get help if something has already happened
The films cover topics such as ‘Understanding child sexual abuse’, ‘The effects of sexual abuse on children’, ‘Why children don’t tell about abuse’ and ‘What to do if you suspect abuse’. There’s also information on the warning signs of abuse in both children and adults, and how to make a family safety plan.
