Thresholds Consultation seminars “Beyond Thresholds”.

The Safeguarding Children’s partnership aims to produce new guidance for practitioners, managers and leaders to replace the current thresholds guidance.  This guidance will be launched in April 2026.

These seminars will provide you with an opportunity to contribute your views and provide your input into the way in which we work and respond to children who need our help.

If you have experience of making safeguarding referrals, or if you are a leader or manager of people who do, take this opportunity to share your views and shape the new practice guidance.

We are running a series of seminars, to enable a wide range of practitioners to share their views. you can attend as many of these sessions as you wish.

The Aim of these sessions is:

To create new guidance for practitioners to help them make decisions about how best to help a child.

The Objectives are:

At the end of the seminars/workshops, participants, in helping to produce the guidance, will have contributed to an agreed approach in relation to:

The Methodology :

We will use appreciative enquiry model:

Each seminar will explore typical scenarios, and, putting the child and family at the centre of our thinking, we will look at what went well, what the key challenges were, this will help us draw conclusions about what the new guidance must contain.

(we cannot address current operational concerns though-this has to be done using the appropriate process)
