Tackling Exploitation and Violence Together
This is a multi-agency launch event for the Strategy for Early help, tackling exploitation, violence, and domestic abuse, for all practitioners.
The aim of this event is:
- Put Slough's young people, families and communities at the heart of our plans, highlighting voices and lived experience.
- Share our action plans to gain commitment to collaboration to create safety from violence and exploitation, including child criminal exploitation, child sexual exploitation and Modern Slavery.
- Promote relationship-based approaches to providing help and support for young people and families to prevent harm from violence and exploitation.
What can I expect from the day?
- Organised by Slough Safeguarding Partnership and Safer Slough Partnership, this event has been designed with practitioners in mind, and will focus on sharing useful learning from our work with young people, families, and communities in Slough.
- Among the themes discussed will be creating safety from harms, including serious violence, domestic abuse, child criminal and sexual exploitation.
- This event marks Anti-Slavery Day on 18 October – a time to encourage governments, businesses, friends, family, and colleagues to do what they can to prevent human trafficking and protect victims of modern-day slavery.
- The event will feature a mixture of speakers and activities run by local people and with guest speakers with a national profile on tackling violence.
- There will be an opportunity for learning from best practice as well as for informal conversation around finding solutions together.
