Target Group

This course is for all staff, who work with vulnerable adults. It is relevant for investigators (Police and social workers) and referrers alike.

Aims and Objectives 

To develop professional competencies in the workforce in the application of practice standards around support for self-neglect, hoarding and risky behaviour in vulnerable adults. 

Learning outcomes:

At the end of the seminar, practitioners will have improved competencies in:

•       Identifying potential indicators and causes of self-neglect

•       Recognising the links with safeguarding

•       Identifying own role in supporting people who self-neglect

•       Identifying support available and processes for support

•       Providing challenge

•       Developing a multi-agency plan
