Thresholds update 2026:

In early 2026, 64 professionals from 35 partner agencies took part in five seminars to move beyond to move beyond the checklist style thresholds document to developing more child centred guidance. Key priorities were clearer feedback on referrals, consistent thresholds, practical advice for cases below statutory thresholds, local service access, and workforce development.

Next steps: The document is being revised to make it more user friendly. There is consensus that it will need to be an online tool. Work with partners on the Children’s QA group will result in a new style document and will link to guidance and resources. Further consultation will take place in September to December. The aim is to publish in March 2027 with guidance that is consistent with the requirements of government reforms.
